When I was seven years old, my father passed away from stage IV lung cancer.  During his battle and in the years that followed, organizations like the American Cancer Society played a vital role in supporting my family. That community support eased many burdens during a time of overwhelming uncertainty.

Today, I’m fundraising for Fork Cancer Pensacola to give that same hope and support to other families facing cancer. Funds raised this year will directly support the Road to Recovery Program, which provides transportation for cancer patients who lack a reliable way to get to treatment and essential medical appointments. Access to treatment should never be a barrier to care. Something as simple as a ride can be the difference between continuing lifesaving treatment or going without. This program ensures that patients can focus on healing, not logistics.

Your donation today will help ensure that no child has to say goodbye to their parent becasue of cancer. Access to care, support, and scientific progress changes outcomes — and every contribution plays a role in giving families more time together.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your generosity!

My name is Joseph Stevens, and I am a dedicated volunteer for the American Cancer Society, working with Fork Cancer Pensacola to support cancer research and raise awareness.

After watching family members battle cancer, I became passionate in supporting cancer research and helping those impacted by the disease. During my 4 years as an undergraduate, I am proud to have helped raise over $15,000 for cancer research. Since graduating I have had a desire to continue to help raise support and awareness for research so I volunteered at last year’s Fork Cancer event. I am proud to be a part of an organization that cares for people during this challenge. No one should have to fight this battle alone, and I am happy to help in any way possible.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and also earned a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of West Florida. I am currently an Asset Manager with Sunchase Companies. We help provide affordable housing across multiple counties. I enjoy helping the community I grew up in and want to give back as much as possible.
